๐Ÿ„ Beach Activities

On the beach & in the water

The Emerald Coast is one of the most activity-friendly stretches of shore in Florida. Gentle Gulf bottom, clear emerald water, and those long summer days. Whether you want to stay dry on the sand or get out on the water, here's a rundown of the best ways to spend your day.

๐ŸŒŠ Water activities

  • Snorkeling & paddleboarding. Calm Gulf mornings are made for a board. Paddle the shoreline or the flats near the passes.
  • Boating & pontoon rentals. The classic Crab Island boat day, or a leisurely cruise around the bay.
  • Dolphin & sunset cruises. Bottlenose dolphins are a common sight. A sunset sail is the postcard version.
  • Parasailing. A tow behind a boat gives you the whole coast from above.
  • Fishing. Surf fishing from the beach, pier fishing, or a half-day charter out in the Gulf.
  • Kayaking & paddle tours. The 30A coastal dune lakes are a rare, protected paddle.

๐Ÿ–๏ธ On-the-sand fun

  • Sandcastle building. The sugar-white quartz packs beautifully. Bring a scoop-and-forms set for the kids.
  • Beach games. Volleyball, that classic ball-and-paddle game, frisbee, and a good old digging contest never get old.
  • Shelling. Morning low tide is the best time to walk the waterline.
  • Sunset walks & bonfires. Same rules apply, check beach rules for fire and time limits.
  • Watching the wildlife, like dolphins, birds, and (from a distance) sea turtles.

๐Ÿšค Rentals, tours & gear

Most activities need gear or a guide. We're building a booking and partner page here for pontoon rentals, dolphin cruises, paddleboard rentals, and charter fishing. In the meantime, plan your day with our things to do guide and don't forget your beach essentials.
