Okaloosa Island is a barrier island between Destin and Fort Walton Beach (Okaloosa County) — packed with family resorts, the Gulfarium, wild dune parks, and a string of numbered public beach accesses (Access 1–8) with restrooms, showers and boards. It's the liveliest, most resort-heavy stretch on the Gulf between Destin and Fort Walton.
