๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Grand Boulevard at Sandestin

The town center in Miramar Beach, next to Sandestin. The best restaurant lineup of the three big stops on this coast.

The short answer

Grand Boulevard is the smaller of the three big shopping stops, and the one with the best food. It is a walkable open-air town center in Miramar Beach with 39 shops, 16 restaurants, the AMC Boulevard 10 cinema and the Emerald Coast Theatre Company. Dinner options run from Fleming's and Bricktop's to Shades and The Craft Bar, with breakfast at Another Broken Egg. Hours are 10 to 8 Monday through Saturday and 11 to 7 Sunday. If you are staying in Sandestin or Miramar, this is your dinner stop.

๐Ÿ–๏ธ What Grand Boulevard is actually like

Grand Boulevard is the quiet one of the three big shopping stops on this coast, and that is why locals like it. It is smaller than Silver Sands and Destin Commons, but the restaurant lineup is the strongest of the three, and it sits right next to Sandestin and Miramar Beach, so it works as the dinner stop rather than the destination.

What makes it useful is the combination. You can have a real dinner at Fleming's or Bricktop's, walk to the cinema, and never move the car. Tommy Bahama, Cantina Laredo and Grimaldi's cover the middle of the range, and Shades and The Craft Bar handle the casual end. Breakfast is Another Broken Egg, sweets are Perla Baking and Kilwins. It is the kind of place you end up at twice in one week without planning it.

It is also the one with a theater company. Emerald Coast Theatre Company is on site, which gives this center something the others do not have: live performance. Between that, the AMC and the restaurants, you can build an evening here that has nothing to do with shopping.

There is a fountain and water feature at Grand Park, the green space in the middle, and kids splash in it on a hot afternoon. It is a nice thing to walk past on the way to dinner, not the reason to come. The events are the more reliable draw, especially the holiday parade and Festival of Trees, which bring the whole center into Grand Park.

โ“ Grand Boulevard questions

Where is Grand Boulevard?

495 Grand Boulevard, Miramar Beach, FL 32550, on the north side of US 98 in South Walton. It is about eight miles past the Okaloosa and Walton county line coming from Destin, and roughly seven minutes off the highway. If you are staying in Sandestin or Miramar, it is a short drive.

What are the hours?

Monday through Saturday 10am to 8pm, Sunday 11am to 7pm. Individual stores and restaurants run their own hours, so call ahead for the one you are coming for.

What is there besides shopping?

It is more than retail. There are 39 shops, 16 restaurants, and 23 professional offices, plus the AMC Boulevard 10 cinema, the Emerald Coast Theatre Company, and a fitness studio. Three hotels are on site too, so people stay here as well as shop here.

Where do you eat?

This is the strongest dining cluster on this part of the coast. Fleming's Prime Steakhouse, Bricktop's, Tommy Bahama Restaurant and Bar, Cantina Laredo, P.F. Chang's, Grimaldi's Pizzeria, Shades Bar and Grill, Vin'tij Food and Wine, The Craft Bar and Everkrisp, plus breakfast at Another Broken Egg and sweets at Perla Baking and Kilwins.

Is there anything for kids?

There is a fountain and water feature at Grand Park, the green space at the center, and kids do splash in it. It is a nice spot to stop, not a destination water park, so treat it as a bonus rather than the reason for the trip. The cinema and the restaurants are what carry a family visit.

Can you walk the whole thing?

Yes. It is an open-air town center layout, so everything is walkable from wherever you park. Because it is a long center rather than a compact one, parking near the end you are headed for saves steps, and there are public restrooms on site.

Are there events?

Yes, and they are family-oriented. The Hometown Holiday Parade kicks off the season in November, Festival of Trees runs in December in Grand Park supporting local nonprofits, and the center hosts the SoWalWine festival. Grand Park is the green space where a lot of it happens.

Is there a movie theater?

Yes, AMC Boulevard 10 is on site. That makes it a real option on a rainy afternoon or a hot one, paired with dinner afterward without moving the car.

How does it compare to Silver Sands and Destin Commons?

All three do different jobs and they are minutes apart. Silver Sands is built around outlet stores. Destin Commons has the cinema, bowling, splash pad and playground alongside the shops. Grand Boulevard is the smallest of the three but has the most concentrated restaurant lineup and a theater company, and it sits right next to Sandestin and Miramar Beach, so it is the easy dinner stop if you are staying nearby.

Is it good on a rainy day?

Partly. The cinema and the restaurants work in any weather. The center itself is open-air, so shopping in a downpour means short dashes between covered storefronts. If the weather is truly bad, Destin Commons is the better indoor option.
